The AZEK Company is a publicly traded, industry-leading designer and manufacturer of beautiful, low maintenance and environmentally sustainable outdoor living products, including TimberTech® decking and Versatex® and AZEK Trim®.
As with many reports, our challenge was creating a document that was loyal to the brand guidelines while supporting the particular themes and concepts specific to the current reporting year. To that end, Baker proposed leveraging AZEK’s sustainability initiative called Full Circle (FC), a conceptual anchor for their ongoing internal efforts to satisfy their ESG commitments. Circles were embedded into hero images on the cover and dividers to create scenes in which AZEK’s “all in” ethos were rendered visible. Circles were the logical graphic choice to pull through the report because they were being used liberally in other company touchpoints. Numerous pull quotes and infographics made the dense tome accessible to a diverse audience.
The result was well received because their purpose as an organization was made palpable in a new, fresh way. For an industry that is product-centric and leans towards the literal, we were able to provide an elevated aesthetic that spoke to their core audiences without using cliched imagery that has arguably begun to lose its impact over time.
